Since 2009, Forensic Pathologist Thomas R. Beaver, MD has drawn on his comprehensive training and extensive experience to serve the Kern County Sheriff’s Office in Bakersfield, California. As a board-certified forensic pathologist who has also received certification from the American Board of Pathology in anatomic and clinical pathology, Thomas R. Beaver, MD performs autopsies under the jurisdiction of the Coroner in cases of homicide, suicide, accident, or natural death. Prior to his arrival in Kern County, Thomas R. Beaver, MD held a number of prestigious posts nationwide, including Chief Medical Examiner for the 7th and 24th Judicial Districts in Florida from 1999 to 2006 and Chief Medical Examiner for Lubbock County, Texas, from 2006 to 2009. Thomas R. Beaver, MD also served as Associate Medical Examiner for the 14th Judicial District in Florida from 1997 to 1999 and worked as a forensic pathologist at Delta Pathology Associates and Yosemite Pathology Medical Group in California. Dedicated to furthering knowledge in his field, Thomas R. Beaver, MD taught pathology at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas, and led the school’s Division of Forensic Pathology as Director from 2006 to 2009. With articles published in peer-reviewed journals that include Clinical Chemistry, The American Journal of Cardiology, and The Journal of Infectious Diseases, Thomas R. Beaver, MD has also frequently served as course lecturer and director for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, the organization that accredits post-MD training programs nationwide. Thomas R. Beaver, MD currently holds medical licenses in California and Florida. Additionally, Thomas R. Beaver, MD has received Drug Enforcement Administration certification from the United States Department of Justice.
